The prince revealed to the Mail that he fears flunking the tough course to become an Apache attack helicopter pilot with the Army Air Corps.
Just weeks into his new career, he failed a maths exam (which he has since retaken successfully).

He told the Mail: 'The [actual] flying is going fantastic . . . but the flying courses are so intense. It has surprised me how intense it is. There [have been] times when I thought, you know, I'm really not cut out for this, mentally.

'I mean I hope I've got the physical skills to fly a helicopter. But mentally, there are the exams and everything. I mean, I can't do maths . . . I gave that up when I left school. . . now I have suddenly got to do exams in it.'

He does have the support of elder brother William, with whom he is sharing a bachelor pad near RAF Shawbury. Prince William is training to become an RAF Search and Rescue Pilot.

Harry said: 'He does most of the cooking. I spend time just lying around, watching TV and doing my work. Because the RAF don't have to work as hard as the Army! I do the washing up.'

The prince added that his trip to New York had been 'absolutely fantastic'. He said he was particularly moved by his visit to the site of the 9/11 atrocities, adding: 'I don't let myself get moved by too much, especially in public, but it was truly inspirational.'
