Grammy-winning singer and Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson can add mom-to-be to her resume after a weekend baby shower in her honor was held in downtown Chicago, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Felicia Fields, a longtime friend of the Hudson, confirmed to the paper that the event happened on Saturday.
"It was a baby shower, a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family," Fields, also a singer and actress, said of a gathering in a relative's home. "They're really trying to keep it kind of quiet."
She added: "It was a nice time that we had."

BGT hopeful hospitalized

Looks like dreaming the dream has proved a tough a task for Susan Boyle.
Just one day after her show-stopping finale performance--and her startling upset--in Britain's Got Talent, the YouTube songbird has reportedly been admitted to a London-area clinic suffering from exhaustion.
According to British media reports, Boyle, 48, was voluntarily taken by ambulance following a visit to her London hotel by police.
Per The Sun, Boyle checked into the Priory Clinic, but the facility issued a statement saying, "We can neither confirm nor deny reports." Likewise, Scotland Yard wouldn't name names, but said that a woman was brought in with police supervision under the Mental Health Act.
This is just another incident in a week of struggles for surprise international sensation. Prior to her Talent loss, Boyle was allegedly involved in two obscene outbursts and moved into a safe house before the finale.
Earlier Sunday, it was reported that Boyle would be taking some much needed time off at the behest of her doctor.

Not the brightest royal spark

Party loving Prince Harry has admitted: "I never thought it would be this tough."
Chatting to the The Sun about his helicopter training, the 24-year-old Royal revealed he has been struggling with the theory side of aviation. (Not much of a surprise considering his academic performance at school was dodgy to say the least!)
Harry, who is 5 months into a two-year course to become an Army Air Corps combat pilot, said: "The flying is fantastic. But there are times I've thought, I'm really not cut out for this mentally. It's really intense.
"I knew it was going to be tough, but never thought it would be this tough. I hope I've got the physical skills to fly a helicopter. But there are the exams and everything. I can't do maths. I gave that up when I left school."
Harry has been living with his brother William as the boys both learn to fly helicopters at RAF Shawbury, Shropshire.
He joked: "William does most of the cooking while I just lie around watching TV and doing my work. He has more time on his hands because the RAF don't have to work as hard as the Army."

The royal rider was approaching the 4.5ft jump at almost 30mph when her young horse, Make Mine Music, suddenly stopped in his tracks.

Although she appeared to be heading towards the ground headfirst, 28-year-old Zara managed to jump athletically out of the saddle and land in the water.

Unfortunately the horse's refusal meant she was eliminated from the Tattersalls international horse trials, which is a world cup eventing qualifier.

New homes for Slumdog Millionaire kids

Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle and the trust he set up for the child stars of Slumdog Millionaire have bought a new home for nine-year-old Azharuddin Ismail, who played the young Salim in the movie.
The British filmmaker flew out to Mumbai to help after the nine-year-old's family was forced to leave their shanty town when it was demolished.
Danny said he hoped a new home could also be found for Rubina Ali - who was also left homeless after authorities razed her house - before the monsoon rains in June. The £33,000 apartment bought for Azharuddin and his family is near to the boy's school.
"They were given access to a world, an extraordinary and glamorous world, and they understandably want their lives to be completely transformed," he said of the children, who attended the Oscars ceremony in LA in February.
Shortly after the film wrapped, Danny, 52, and producer Christian Colson set up the Jai Ho Trust, founded wtih the aim of helping the children financially until they turned 18.

"The homes are a concern. That is one of the reasons why we built the trust," explained the Lancashire-born director.
Both the children were reportedly promised new homes by the state housing association in February, but Rubina's father said they hadn't heard anything further from the organisation.

As Beyonce Knowles stepped out in London this week with her rapper husband Jay Z there was no missing the style statement made by the exaggerated shoulders of her Balmain jacket.

The dramatic 'outsize' look is one which has been adopted by some of the coolest celebs on the international circuit since it emerged on the Paris catwalks during fashion week. He's been laying low for the past several months until recently, when Chris Brown decided to break his silence by posting a video on YouTube.

The age-defying mother-of-two proved she's still worthy of her supermodel billing at the age of 43 after peeling down to a strappy two-piece in Los Angeles this week.

Cindy looked at completely at ease as she tossed her hair and worked her killer body in front of the camera.
She is believed to have been shooting a campaign for the Australian market, and called in her hairstylist Chris McMillan and photographer James White to make sure it was truly picture perfect.

Cindy told Allure magazine last month: 'I think I look pretty good for 43, but I don't look the way I did when I was 23.'
But she also assured women she is human after all by admitting she has cellulite: 'I do, and I never said I didn't. I've had two kids and I'm 43, so leave me alone!'

Madonna and her toyboy lover Jesus Luz are set to tie the knot in a Kabbalah ceremony, according to the model's father.

Luiz Heitor Pinto da Luz said:'He is very happy and this ceremony would just confirm that.'
He was replying to reports the couple are due to take part in a Kabbalah commitment ceremony in New York as soon as this weekend.

In the new interview with Brazil's Quem magazine, Luiz Heitor gave his son's relationship with Madonna the seal of approval.
He said: 'My understanding is that this is just a consequence of what is happening. He is already living with her.

The residents are convinced that the partygoers are to blame.
Law enforcement sources claim Hilton was questioned about the vandalism allegations Tuesday, but she is not considered a suspect. The case is still under investigation.

Madonna's Mercy in Malawi

While Madonna frantically continues her adoption attempts on Mercy in Malawi, (although it seems unlikely the star will be taking home another toddler to fill her home), in the interim she is setting up a trust fund to help the young girl even if she can't adopt her.
Mercy's father, James Kambewa has stepped up to the limelight claiming fathering rights over the 4year old.
Either way, Madge has decided to continue looking after Mercy financially and wants to ensure she gets the best education possible. A source revealed: "Madonna loves Mercy. She wants to be part of her life and provide for her."

Apparently a trust fund will be set up to pay for Mercy's schooling and whatever travel needs the young girl may require in later life, even if the ruling that she can't adopt her still stands. Madge's lawyers will no doubt also be working on ensuring that Mercy's dad (and any other potential well meaning family members who may still crawl out of the woodwork), do not get to lay their hands on any of the cash.
