No. Provided you follow the basic laws of privacy, trespass and use your own common sense. Its not illegal to take a photo of a celeb in a public place. Gaining illegal access to their homes is! Flashing them in their face over dinner is simply rude and will probably get you thrown out. Please read our guidelines and terms and conditions carefully.

You have to own the copyright to the work you submit or we cannot use it. We will not use anything that’s the result of any criminal activity on your part.

We keep all your personal information confidential and will not pass it on to anyone. We will never send spam sms, mms or emails. Please let us know if you need us to protect your identity for whatever reason. We don’t want anyone being intimidated for sending us info or pics!

Anyone over the age of 18yrs can join. You don’t have to be living in sa to join. If you get a shot of Brad and Ange in Namibia……… please do send it!!!

There are no joining fees. Other than a standard sms fee and your regular internet connection fee.

We endeavor to sell the photos worldwide to our network of agencies who are prepared to pay top prices for exclusive photos. They will be published in newspapers and magazines across the globe.

All the pictures will be published with the Starpics name. This also helps to protect your privacy.

We will notify you by sms or email as soon as a sale has been made. We will also add your pictures to our gallery page and a list of publications that have printed our pics.

You will be paid by cheque or bank transfer within 10 days of Starpics receiving payment from the relevant agency or publication buying your photos.

You will receive 50% for the sale of your pics, and a reasonable percentage (10-50%) for sending us information leading to a us getting a successful set of pics or exclusive story. This is based on the timeliness and value of the info. Be aware that we sometimes get multiple sources of information which together leads to a saleable set of pics.

If the celeb is on the move and time is an issue, or if that once in a lifetime kiss and tell is unfolding in front of you – snap away and then sms Starpics. If they are going to be in a particular place for a while or if you have info on their whereabouts, where they are staying, playing or working – call us and snap if you are confident. We will send one of our experienced photographers to capture the moment.

If the photo is on your phone, you can either send it via your networks email service or as a mms. Please ensure that the mms does not resize the images as this reduces the resolution making it almost impossible to sell. We need the images as large as possible. The best is to transfer it to a computer and email starpics.

INFO: we are more than happy to pay for valuable tip off fees that lead to a successful, exclusive story and/or set of photos, although it is impossible to pay everyone for the same information. That’s why we have put a system in place that records the details of every sms logged with us – the first sms coming through will receive payment should this lead to successful photos being taken and sold. If we receive further, valuable information on the same story we will do payments on that too. These tip off fees will vary depending on the success of the story/ pics and how well they sell.

PHOTO: if we receive several photos of the same subject- we will put them all out to be sold – possibly as a package, as someone else may have an angle that you don’t. But at least we’ll try to keep them exclusive as this improves the price. If they are all sold off via different means independently, it reduces the value of the pics as they are no longer exclusive.

REMEMBER – be quick with the sms and /or photos. Don’t let an easy opportunity to earn cash turn into a lost opportunity due to your slow response!

We will send an experienced photographer to take care of the shots. You supply the info, we’ll make sure we get the best possible set of pictures to sell.

We cannot market a set of photos as exclusive if they are being sold elsewhere or loaded onto a shared viewing site. Publications are prepared to pay for exclusivity. You lose money by selling it to different people.
